Editor's Note: This week only, Ollie is offering 50% off your first box!
If your dog could choose, would they rather eat 100% human-grade fresh food made with meats, fruits, and veggies?
Or would they rather crunch their way through a monotonous bowl of processed, heat-blasted, nutrient-deficient kibble?
It’s hardly even a question, is it?
Congratulations for making the great decision to switch your dog’s diet to fresh food!
Here at Primary Goods, we take pride in feeding our pets the best food there is. For us, that means Ollie.
When you switch to a fresh, high-quality, personalized dog food like Ollie, your pup’s in for a treat. You can expect your dog to have more energy, better poops, and a shinier coat within weeks. Plus, Ollie even offers free Diet Transition Screenings with on-demand guidance from vets during your dog’s journey to a better diet. So you can get peace of mind that the new diet is working for your pet.
If you’re ready to make the transition but don’t want your pup’s stomach (or your freezer) to revolt, here’s your non-nonsense guide to transition your dog to fresh food.

Ollie’s fresh, human-grade food is the absolute best support there is for your pup to live their healthiest, happiest life.
Fresh food means real, recognisable ingredients, rather than the unrecognizably processed stuff that goes into off-the-shelf kibble. With Ollie, you can see exactly what ingredients your dog is having for dinner. No mystery processed meat, fillers, or sprayed-on nutrients (yuck). Just real, unprocessed meats such as turkey, lamb, and beef. Vegetables you could find in your own fridge like sweet potatoes, carrots, and spinach. Fruits like cranberries and blueberries. It’s the closest thing possible to feeding your dog human food. Slow cooked by hand and packed with whole food-based nutrition.
All of Ollie’s recipes are formulated with vet nutritionists and best of all, each meal plan is carefully personalized to your pup’s needs. Ollie handles everything, portioning food and delivering fresh meals right to your door. All you have to do is defrost and serve.

Other than chatting to your dog about how their breakfast will look different the next day (we’re sure they’ll have some thoughts!), there are a few steps to take to ensure you’re ready for the big day.
Introduce Ollie to your pup - tell Ollie your dog’s weight, activity level, and spay/neuter status so they can create and personalize your perfect meal plan.
Order your starter box - Your starter box will contain two weeks of food plus the tools you need for easy serving and storage (a Puptainer and scoop).
Get your freezer ready - as most Ollie meals arrive in frozen, pre-portioned packs, it’s a good idea to clear out your freezer to make room.
Complete regular Diet Transition Screenings - Once your Ollie has arrived, get expert guidance from the Ollie Health team as you transition your dog to their new food. Just upload a photo of your dog’s poop, and you’ll receive feedback from a vet within 24 hours, along with advice on next steps, feeding patterns, and any other questions you may have.
Get support whenever you need it - Ollie’s experts and health screening tools are available on-demand 24/7 via the Ollie app.

When starting a new food plan, it’s important to ease into it. Your pup and their tummy will thank you.
Transitioning your dog to Ollie usually takes around a week, but it’s best to be flexible to ensure your dog’s unique needs and prior diet are taken into consideration.
Scoop a small amount of Ollie into your dog’s current food. This gets them familiar with the smell and taste.
Serve a mix of 50% Ollie, 50% of your dog’s current food.
Mix 75% Ollie with 25% of your dog’s current food.
Assuming there have been no issues, you can serve 100% of your dog’s customized Ollie portion.
We recommend sticking to your current mealtime schedule, so as not to change up too much in one go. Mix the new and current foods together well so your dog can’t eat around either type.
If you’re keen on feeding your dog a variety of fresh food and kibble (or if your dog’s a kibble lover), Ollie offers a mixed plan that blends their fresh meals with their gently baked kibble recipe. It’s a world away from industrially-produced kibble, made with visibly real meat and vegetables, gently baked in small batches for the perfect, lightly crunchy texture.

Digestive issues, poop problems, or gas?
This is normal early during a dietary transition. If you have questions or concerns, you can contact the Ollie Health team for advice. Slow down the transition for a day or two to let the diet change settle in fully, allowing more time for your dog’s digestion to adapt.
Refusing to eat, or not finishing their bowl?
Even the pickiest of pups tend to fall in love with Ollie’s fresh recipes, as they’re highly digestible and nutrient dense to satisfy your dog’s appetite. The taste, texture, and flavor means dogs crave Ollie. If your pup is playing coy, try warming the food slightly to release the aroma. They also have five varieties of fresh food and two gently baked options, so you can try them all to see which flavor your dog prefers.
Eating too fast?
Is your pup scarfing down their food too quickly? We can’t blame them, when Ollie tastes so good! Try using a slow feeder bowl or a lick mat to extend mealtime and help out their digestion.

Feeding Ollie means choosing thoughtful, nourishing meals backed by science, convenience, and real care. Get ready for a happy, healthy, lively pup who can’t wait for mealtime. Ollie creates healthier, happier lives via quality and vet-approved nutrition. A dog’s life is just too short to eat kibble every day!
